The Aquos Phone EX SH-04E is Sharp's latest addition to the DoCoMo the Spring 2013 collection. Whilst the hardware is quite the cutting edge thing, it won't fail to grab attention design-wise either.
"Sophisticated design and luxurious comfort": sleek curves decorated with an illuminated crystal at the bottom, glass and rim seamlessly joined to create a comfortable feeling that will not tire the hand. Available in white, pink and black.
The SH-04E is equipped with a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) clocked at 1.5 GHz, 2 GB of operating memory and 16 GB built-in memory, expandable up to 64 GB using SDXC microSD cards.
The display is 4.5 inches with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 px, sadly not using Sharp's latest IGZO tech but the "standard" Super CG-Silicon LCD panels. However, improvements seem to be continuously made in these displays as well, specifically by further developing the "memory" function of the display which helps save energy and improve performance.
The device comes with a 13.1 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor camera equipped with a triple anti-shake system thanks to the optical image stabilisation mechanism Sharp introduced in December 2011 with the SH-01D. The front-facing camera is 1.2 megapixel.
The SH-04E supports LTE (2100, 1500, 800 MHz), HSPA 2100, 850 MHz) and GSM (1900, 1800, 900, 850 MHz) frequencies, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi tethering, and DLNA equipped, has Bluetooth 4.0, InfraRed, One Seg, Felica and NFC.
Naturally, the Aquos Phone EX SH-04E is water- and dustproof (IPX5/7 and IP5X).
It also supports wireless charging.
There is a 2000 mAh battery, and the phone weighs about 145 grams, with dimensions of 128 mm × 64 mm × 10.9 mm.
It runs Android 4.1 and comes with Feel UX.
