Available from 13th May 2015, here comes the first of two new offerings by Sharp on DoCoMo:

The new Aquos Zeta SH-03G is a 5.5-inch slab of the Edgest series. The display resolution is Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels), utilising the familiar IGZO technology.

A new feature is the addition of a fingerprint sensor, placed at the back, below the camera. The camera itself is the familiar 13.1 megapixel shooter but an improved version of SH-01G's world's first "professional single focus digital camera" GR certified by RICOH: it can now deliver super slow video playback (1/70 of normal speed) thanks to its high-speed sensor that can capture 210 shots (FWVGA) or 120 shots (full HD) per second but then is capable of converting these to 2,100 shots (FWVGA) using frame interpolation technology, achieving the world's best speed (as of May 2015). The camera features two-level optical image stabilisation, Night Catch II + BrightEye f/1.9 aperture lens for low-light shooting, wide-angle, in-camera wide angle for splicing multiple shots into one, 4K2K video capture, Framing Advisor, Background Blur (post-shooting), 360°-degree panorama shotting, continuous shooting, translation finder – and a simplied camera UI. The inner camera is 2.1 megapixels and has a lens aperture of f/2.2.

The Aquos Zeta SH-03G is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810, which has a 64-bit architecture, an Adreno 430 GPU, and ensures support for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac standards, enhanced LTE for up to 225 mbps. The processor itself has eight cores: 4*2.0 GHz and 4*1.5 GHz.

This is the first Sharp smartphone to have 3 GB of RAM. The onboard storage space is 32 GB, expandable by SDXC cards.

The OS is Android 5.0 Lollipop. In July 2017, the SH-03G received an upgrade to Android 7.0.

The radio frequencies the SH-03G supports are as follows:
LTE: 700 MHz (Band 28), 800 MHz (Band 19), 1.5 GHz (Band 21), 1.7 GHz (Band 3), 2.0 Ghz (Band 1).
3G: 800 MHz, 2.0 GHz
GSM: 1900, 1800, 900 MHz

The SH-03G is available in two colours: raspberry, black, and white.

It is of course waterproof (IPX5/IPX7).

The Aquos Zeta SH-03G measures 141 (H) x 76 (W) x 8.3 (D) mm, weighs 150 grams, and uses a nanoUIM card.
