The CEO of InFocus Mobiles (the company behind Chinese Sharps, or Charps as I call them), has just announced today (23 March), the Aquos S3 will be presented officially on 28 March. The Taiwan debut will be on 1 April.

The Aquos S3 (model name FS8032) specifications, at least what we know so far, are as follows:

The Aquos S3 will have a 5.99-inch screen with a 18:9 ratio and a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 px, giving it a ratio of 91% of the device's total surface area. This is supposed to make it the world's smallest 6-inch smartphone.

The display will have an iPhone X-like notch on the top part of the display to house the front camera and various sensors. The display will be manufactured by Sharp China (LTPS, with in-cell touch sensors).

To increase the area occupied by the display, the fingerprint scanner has now been moved to the back of the phone. Still, "bezelless" is far from the truth – but a step closer than the Aquos S2.

On the back is also a vertically aligned dual-sensor camera with one 13 and one 12-megapixel sensor. These will most probably be supplied by Sony.

For all those selfie-obsessed, the Aquos S3 will have a 16-megapixel front camera.

The Aquos S3 will ship in two variants (like the S2) – one having 4 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM and another having 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM, powered by the Snapdragon 630 and Snapgradon 660 processors respectively.

The processors support Bluetooth 5.0, wi-fi a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 + 5.x GHz dual-band), NFC Type A/B.

The built-in storage will be expandable using microSDXC cards of max. capacity 128 GB.

The battery capacity is 3,100 mAh.

The Aquos S3 dimensions are 148 x 74 x 7.9 mm, and it weighs 167.4 grams.
