In March 1999, the new Telios series of mobile computers by Sharp was launched. Equipped with the same 129 MHz Toshiba processor of the Mobilon line (TMPR3922U), the first of the Telios came with 16 MB of RAM and ROM. The machine boasts a 7.1-inch 800 x 600 px touchscreen with an industry-first color transflective TFT display with 65536 colours.

The Telios also has stereo sound and a 3.5mm audio out connector to which an LCD-display control headphones can be attached. USB 1.1 connectivity was also added. The Telios weighs quite less than its predecessors, "just" 810 grams.
