Announced in August 2012, the SH530U is available in China (China Unicom), Taiwan (Commtiva) and Russia (carrier-free). This is a rather low-end smartphone: although weilding a 5-inch display, it has the meagre 800 x 480 pixel resolution.

There is nothing impressive about the hardware either: the SH530U is powered by a MediaTek MT6577 (ARM Cortex-A9) dual core processor clocked at 1 GHz, 512 MB of RAM and the PowerVR SXG531T graphics controller (found on the Acer Liquid Gallant Duo AK330), and has 4 GB of ROM storage. Storage can be extended by microSD cards (up to 32 GB).

The SH530U has a 5 MP CMOS camera that can capture HD video. The inner camera is 0.3 MP (VGA).

This smartphone supports both GSM and WCDMA frequencies - and comes with 2 SIM card slots, which is probably its best feature. Also available are GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and FM radios.

The SH530U measures 80.85 x 146 x 9.9 mm and weighs 177 grams. The battery is 1950 mAh. It is available in white and pink.

The operating system is Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

Another cool feature about it is that the new Sharp UI, the Feel UX, comes preinstalled on this smartphone, all to the envy of owners of Sharp smartphones which will neither see an ICS Update, nor the Feel UX user interface.
