The flagship of Commtiva's range of franchise Sharp phones launched in the latter part of 2012, the Aquos Phone SH837W wields some impressive specs for a non-Japanese Sharp.

The SH837W comes with a 4.7-inch S-CG Silicon LCD display and HD (1280 x 720 px) resolution, covered with a Corning Gorilla curved glass. It is powered by a dual-core MTK6577 humming at 1.2 GHz, and 1 GB of RAM. The onboard storage is 4 GB, expandable up to 64 GB using microSDXC cards.

The SH837W has a rear 8 megapixel and a front-facing 1.3 megapixel shooter, with a LED flash for the rear one.

Further equipment includes FM radio, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac and, of course, a GPS antenna. Supported frequencies include GSM @ 1800, 850, 900 MHz and CDMA @ 1900 MHz (up to 7.2 Mbps). Secure payment features include Japanese Felica and NFC,

The Aquos Phone SH837W comes with Android 4.0.4 and will be able to receive OTA updates. An upgrade to Android 4.1 was released later. Also featured is Sharp & Frog's proprietary Feel UX user interface and face recognition unlock.

The device comes with a 1900 mAh battery, measures 133.9 x 67.66 x 8.9 mm, and weighs 126 grams. It is offered in blue, black, and white.
