It is funny how one day you win a Best Design award with your smartphones, and the next day you release something that lacks any individuality, something that looks almost exactly like the iPhone and the bulk of slab devices out there. The wave of no-uniqueness has hit AU as well and they are releasing their branded version of the SH-04H on Docomo and Aquos Xx3 on Softbank.

The Aquos K SHF33 is the beautiful one of AU's Summer 2016 collection offerings. While the other two operators neglected the traditional flip keitai, AU are releasing a relatively adequately powered phone that borrows some of the sweet stuff from the cool smartphone releases.

The SHF33 has the Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926) 1.2 GHz quad-core processor (same working...

Sharp and Docomo have just announced the flagship of their Summer 2016 collection, the new Aquos iPhone... oops, sorry, I mean the new Aquos Zeta SH-04H. In a new and natural form that they call "Comfort & Quality", blah-blah... "Oh, Sharp are trying to copy iPhone," I said to a friend when I saw the release announcement....

Released in late February 2016, the Aquos SH-03H is a strictly-for-business traditional keitai: it lacks camera and entertainment functions, but lays a strong emphasis on security and durability.

The SH-03H is the phone you can bring with in one of those factories and offices where camera equipment is not allowed. It also lacks OneSeg and SNS applications...

The Aquos Serie mini SHV33 is the same device Sharp released in December 2015 on SoftBank, as Aquos Xx2 mini (503SH) and as the Docomo Aquos Compact SH-02H.

The Aquos Serie mini SHV33 has very narrow top and size bezel (EDGEST series) to ensure maximum screen surface for its 4.7-inch Full HD...

The Aquos SH-M02, scheduled for 20th October 2015, is the second smartphone by Sharp that is not tied to any operator (released SIM-free) and is actually an MVNO release of the Aquos Ever SH-04G that came out in the summer of 2015.

Sadly, Sharp's MVNO phones are a tad underwhelming (consider the first SIM-free phone, the...

It has been a while since SoftBank released a flip phone – since the Premium 301SH in November 2013 – but it seems interest in the traditional style keitai is picking up, now that they use Android, albeit a heavily customised one, as its OS.

The new Aquos Mobile (AQUOS ケータイ) is released under the 501SH model name...

The Aquos Xx2 mini is the smaller device Sharp are releasing in SoftBank's Winter 2015/2016 collection. It is the same as the Docomo Aquos Compact SH-02H, only rebranded.

The Aquos Xx2 mini (503SH) has very narrow top and size bezel (EDGEST series) to ensure maximum screen surface for its 4.7-inch Full...

Sharp have just announced their additions to the Softbank Winter 2015/16 collection, earlier than typical for previous years, but just a week after announcing their Docomo devices. If you've seen the Docomo SH-01H and SH-02H, then you've also seen the Softbank Aquos Xx2 and Aquos Xx2 mini because they are, essentially, the...
